Anime NYC was back at the Jacob Javits Center November 18th – 20th and we were lucky enough to be there. We’ve supported this convention from the beginning and have seen it grow yearly. What I love about it is that it’s consistent to the fans. It’s ALL ABOUT THE FANS!
Everyone comes with the sole purpose of dressing up, having fun and meeting new friends. Oh, and also, to get some cool Anime inspired memorabilia.
After being canceled in 2020 during the pandemic, Anime NYC made a comeback in 2021. I was so happy to be there. There were some delays and lines as people had to be masked up and show proof of vaccination. But, after day one, everything went smoothly. This year there were no delays getting in.
What I have always loved about this convention is that it is definitely for the fans. It’s not as big as other conventions yet but in the 7 years that I’ve covered it, it has grown so much bigger but the focus seems to still be on fans and letting them be the STAR of the day. I really love that. You feel it when you’re in the venue.
I had fun this year as with every year and am looking forward to next year. If you’ve never been to the Anime NYC Convention, you should put it on your list of things to do in NYC! If you have been then hit me up if you see me walking around next year.
