Here we are at the 4th week of challenge using “Always Eat After 7 PM: The Revolutionary Rule-Breaking Diet That Lets You Enjoy Huge Dinners, Desserts, and Indulgent Snacks—While Burning Fat Overnight” by Joel Marion. However it’s not end. It’s just the beginning for me.
I want to take it back step by step and tell you my thoughts on the process and how the book has helped me.
Week 1
Looking back at Week 1, I talked about the goals I wanted to set and what I ultimately was hoping to get out of this challenge. They weren’t aggressive goals. They were realistic. I wanted to lose weight and also incorporate the lessons in the book into my day to day lifestyle.
Week 2
In Week 2 , I share why I feel that ‘Always Eat After 7 pm” will help me achieve my goals. I’m not an early morning eater and I generally get home from work late and eat after PM on a regular basis. Following the steps in the is book seemed to go hand in hand with my goals and with my lifestye.
Week 3
By Week 3, I was following the meal plan provided and some of the delicious recipes included in the book like Chilli Loaded Baked Potato. With most diets, potatoes are a no-no and being able to eat one of my favorite meals made me happy, more enthusiastic, and more committed following the “Always Eat After 7 PM” plan.
The book even touches on this saying: “Fact is, most diets are extremely narrow with regard to food choices and variety, and many even limit entire macronutrients altogether over the course of the entire program (think low-carb and low-fat diets). Three months with no carbs? No thanks. Such practices not only are entirely unnecessary, but make for a miserable, unsustainable experience.”
In addition to getting to eat potatoes, I also lost 7 lbs which was pretty exciting.
Week 4 – FINAL THOUGHTS
As I mentioned at the start of this challenge, my goal was to find something that would fit my lifestyle. This diet does exactly that. It fits well with me working from home during the pandemic and it will also work well when I finally go back to work in the office.
The foods are not limiting. There is room for alcohol. There are snack options that include cakes and ice cream for those with a sweet tooth. I’m going to continue with the plan for the remainder of the summer and will likely share my results then.
