Sherlock Holmes & Doc McStuffins + more @ Liberty Science Center – #LSCWinterFun @LibertyScienceCenter @momtrends

Have you been to Liberty Science Center since the last time I shared with you all the fun you can have there with your family? If you live in the tri-state area or are visiting then you have to find the chance to head over to Jersey City to check out all the fun things they have happening at the Liberty Science Center like the new Sherlock Holmes exhibit and the Doc McStuffins exhibit too.

There’s something for all ages at Liberty Science. You’ll have a full day of fun filled activities to please everyone. We recently had the opportunity to check out the newest exhibits so I’m going to share a little bit about each with you.

Liberty Science Center

Our morning started with breakfast and ice cream. ICE CREAM?!?! WITH BREAKFAST?!?! Not at all unusual when it’s a Liberty Science Center experiment. The kids were treated to a step by step explanation on how to make ice cream with liquid nitrogen as part of the 12 Days of Science exhibit.

They also had a toilet paper blizzard. There’s nothing more fun and funny than seeing kids and adults laughing, playing and rolling around in ‘toilet paper snow’.

Once we finished eating breakfast and being treated to the science experiments it was time to explore the fun new exhibits.

If you have young kids then you’re probably familiar with Doc McStuffins, a very popular Disney Channel and Disney Junior cartoon that features
Dottie “Doc” McStuffins, a 6 six year old who cares for her stuffed pets and toys in her playhouse clinic.

The Liberty Science Center Doc McStuffins Exhibit brings that playhouse clinic to life. Kids can don doctors white coat as they examine stuffed pets and baby dolls while learning how to remedy different ailments and perform regular check-ups.

The hands-on Doc McStuffins exhibit is included in your general admission ticket. It will be here from Oct. 6, 2018 through Jan. 27, 2019.

Sherlock Holmes Exhibit

It’s elementary my dear Watson that a Sherlock Holmes Exhibit would require you to solve a mystery. Well, there are a few mysteries to solve in this exhibit and it caters to all ages.

You don’t have to be a detective to explore the exhibit. You can take a walk through and see all of the items on display including collectible posters, movie set props, costumes and even scripts from movies about Sherlock Holmes.

If you’re ready to put on your Sherlock Holmes coat and hat to solve the mysteries that lie within the exhibit then you’re in for a treat. Each part of the exhibit features it’s own mystery to solve and as you walk around collecting clues you can jot them down in a mini-notebook they give you at the start of the exhibit. You also collect stamps as you solve the mysteries.

Children receive a ‘junior ‘ notebook with simpler instructions to make it fun for them to explore right alongside their parents. I really had a great time at this exhibit and vowed to go back to really take it all in.

The International Exhibition of Sherlock Holmes is available with the purchase of a Combination Pass or Premium Pass.

Microbes Rule!

Of course, there are many other exhibits. Like I said, there is something for everyone. They even have a Microbes exhibit which helps you learn more about the power of microbes. You can create a microbe painting and they even have a petition that you can sign to name Streptomyces griseus the official microbe of New Jersey. Visit the site to find out why and to learn more about the exhibit.

I have so much fun everytime I go to Liberty Science Center and I hope you take the opportunity to visit and check out all the amazing exhibits. ‘Til next time!
