Hello! Please tell us how you got the name Slim KuttaR?

Slim is a childhood nickname that suck with me growing up because I was the tall skinny kid out all of my friends. Even in college I had professors called me Slim. My good friend (who’s like a brother to me) Capitio or N.O. Capo start calling me Kutta. When I started recording music as an artist I added the capital R to the end which stands for real in the terms of being real/true to myself and my music. The R is actually silent in KuttaR.

Where are you originally from?

I’m originally from Birmingham, AL but, I was raised New Orleans, LA.

What are the main inspirations behind your music?

I’m a very fun and outgoing person. My music is a reflection of that, being very upbeat and about enjoying life no matter where are on life’s journey.

Tell us about your background in basketball!

I’ve played seven years of professional basketball overseas and here in the United States. Playing basketball took me to some really cool places like Italy, Germany, Estonia, and Panama to name a few. I coached boy’s high school basketball and AAU. I used to train players male and female from age 5 to professional. Most recently I’ve helped high school seniors go onto college and play while pursuing their degrees.

What was the main inspiration behind your single OFF THE WALL?

I would say my sound is hip-hop with a twist meaning I like to incorporate jazz, blues, and a little bit of classical music in my songs. When I first heard the beat the first thing came to mind is, “you better get your butt up off the wall” and the rest is history!

Do you produce your own music or do you work with other producers as well?

No, I don’t produce music right now lol. I work with a lot of produces. I’m the type of artist if the beats sounds good to me I’ll split on it regards who produced it.

Goals for the next year?

Have a multiple number 1 records which OFF THE WALL could definitely be one of those. Release my debut LP, and touring the world!

Favorite areas to tour?

I love to travel so wherever there’s a stage for me to perform and rock out with my fans I’m there!
