Growing up, my mom had a beautiful cream colored fine china set on display in her china cabinet. We would only use it on Thanksgiving and Christmas and weren’t allowed to wash them in the dishwasher. Everything had to be hand washed.
I’ve always wanted to get my own set but, alas, $40 for one dinner plate is not exactly in my budget these days. But a girl can dream and it turns out I can actually dream within my budget after seeing these Francois et Mimi Vintage-Style SoupMugs. They are the exact same style as the china my mom had.
This was easily one of the best things for me to review. It was love at first sight. I’ve reviewed other items from Francois et Mimi. I love their style in general and I love the prices even more.
These soup or cereal mugs come as a set of 4 that is lead-free, dishwasher safe and made of Stoneware. It’s a perfect size to eat a bowl of cereal in the morning but, for me it’s all about the soup. I’m a soup lover. I’ve been known to eat soup for breakfast. Why eat cereal when there is soup?
These mugs fit a perfect bowl of soup and the handle makes it easy for me to just sip away. Who needs a spoon when you have a handle and can bring the mug right to your mouth?
I really hope they add other pieces to this collection because I will build my collection and finally have that fine china set of solid pieces at a fraction of the cost and I’ll be able to put them in the dishwasher.
