Idina Menzel To Sing The National Anthem;John Legend to Sing ‘America The Beautiful’ @ Super Bowl XLIX

Idina Menzel is hot right now with the overly popular song ‘Let It Go’ from Disney’s cartoon ‘Frozen’  (which I haven’t see yet) so, it’s no surprise that she’s been tapped to sing the National Anthem for this year’s Super Bowl in Phoenix, Arizona, Sunday February 1st.

I’ve loved her ever since she was in the original cast of the Broadway musical Rentand I’ll definitely be tuning in to hear her belt the Star Spangled Banner.

Now I just need to find a good Super Bowl party to go to with good beer and stellar wings.
I have to be honest, unless it’s a home team there are only 3 reasons I even watch the Super Bowl:
  1. To see who sings/ruins the national anthem
  2. To watch and vocally judge the commercials as if I’m a professional ad agent.
  3. To check the end of quarter scores to see if I won anything in the Super Bowl pools I entered.
I would have had the Super Bowl Half Time Show as number 4 but, that’s turned into just a mess these past few years. I believe Katy Perry is headlining this year and to quote Dave Grohl from his interview with Red Bull Magazine, “The worst thing they impose on me is Katy Perry’s latest album.”

I think after Michael Jackson there was nothing new and different that could be done with the halftime show. The only person that came close was Prince and I love him dearly but, his performance was NO Michael Jackson.

Anyway, back to the topic. IDINA MENZEL will sing the National Anthem and JOHN LEGENDwill sing “America The Beautiful” as part of Super Bowl XLIX pregame festivities at University of Phoenix Stadium in Arizona.
