I’m Puerto Rican so salsa dancing should definitely be in my blood and it is but, I’m a much, much better merengue dancer. I’m also not good at all with salsa and a dance partner and well, what good is salsa without a partner?
I’ve always said that I was going to take a salsa class and at one point even had a friend, who is also Puerto Rican, interested in taking lessons too, but alas, time and scheduling always got the best of us.
So, you can imagine how delighted I was to be able to review The Salsa Dance Mastery System. Finally, I was going to be able to learn to salsa like a champ (hopefully) but, in the comfort of my room in private.
The Salsa Dance Mastery System is a 5 DVD set that takes you Step by Step from beginner to intermediate at your pace which is perfect for me because of time constraints and also money because dance lessons aren’t cheap and if you miss a lesson, there’s no makeup class.
I had to start from the beginning because I’m sure some of what I self-learned needed to be unlearned. The information in the first is very good for those who know nothing or at least the basics of salsa. It was a little slow for me but, the next set of dvds and instructions made up for it with things I didn’t know.
I say get a group of your friends together for a ‘girls night in’ grab some wine and let the lessons begin. You’re definitely going to have fun and most importantly, you’re going to learn to salsa so you can bust a move next time your in the club or at a party and the deejay puts that good salsa groove on.
