If you’re like me then you probably have a nice little collection of shapewear that you’ve bought and worn once never to let it touch your body again.
Why?
Well, for me there are a few reasons:
- It fit too tight
- It fit tight in some spots and loose in others
- It was hot and uncomfortable
- It didn’t hold anything in at all
- It held to much in and I was shaped like a board
- It does not stay in place and winds up either rolling down or rolling up
Even with all of that I’m still in search of the perfect one and I may just have found it.
I received a lovely invite to receive an introduction and demonstration hosted by the CEO of Ruby Ribbon herself, Ana Zornosa at AVA Lounge in NYC.

I looked through their site (rubyribbon.com) a few days before the event and really liked a lot of the pieces they had to offer and then there it was clear as day, shapewear. Lots of it.
All of the Ruby Ribbon clothing is shapewear in disguise so, this was an event I wasn’t going to miss especially since the site touched on the comfort of the clothing.
I learned that Ruby Ribbon shapewear received the highest rating in a Woman’s Day poll for comfort, breathability and variety.
They are made to fit any and every body shape from small A Cup all the way up to double cup sized, XS to XXL.
There’s a ‘secret’ built-in-technology called Intomi that keeps the shapewear in place which is one of the issues I mentioned above.
While at the event I learned that you can pretty much wear it anywhere and you won’t sweat. Really? Okay.
Most importantly, I learned that I would be able to take one of my own home to try out. Yippie!
There are so many amazing pieces to choose from: dresses, blouses, pants, skirts and undergarments.

The very next day I had a gym workout so of course I wore my Shapewear under my gym tank top.
What better way to test it out?
Comfort.
It’s very comfortable. The material is soft and I love the way it feels on my body. It does indeed stay in place. It didn’t ride up or move around so I didn’t feel like I had an extra unnecessary layer underneath my clothes. It felt sheer to the skin.
Breathability.
I didn’t feel like a stuffed sardine. I moved and breathed freely and easily. The fact that I didn’t have to wear a bra with it made it that much better.
The Sweat Factor.
I felt really cool in it which I know would not have been the case with the other shapewear I own. I wouldn’t even dare wear them to the gym.
Of course I did sweat, I mean I was at the gym BUT, the material is much like gym gear where the sweat wicks off and you’re left feeling cool and comfortable.
So, if it passed the gym wear test then it definitely gets two thumbs up for regular everyday wear.
