“The Only Christopher We Acknowledge is Wallace” Exhibit Curated by DJ Clark Kent @ The Bishop Gallery in Bedstuy 9/20

Spread Love It’s The Brooklyn Way

This month (September 13th) marks the 20th anniversary of the release of The Notorious BIG’s classic “Ready to Die” and there are bound to be plenty of parties and exhibits around the world to celebrate.

Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, the home of Biggie, will definitely be responsible for quite a few of the festivities.
One of those celebrations, “The Only Christopher We Acknowledge is Wallace” exhibit will take place at The Bishop Gallery on Bedford Avenue and is curated by DJ Clark Kent who had a hand in elevating Biggie’s career along with Junior Mafia and Lil’ Kim with “Player’s Anthem”.
The exhibit will feature never before seen photos of Biggie and artwork from various artists handpicked by Kent.
It’s very fitting that the exhibit would be in Biggie’s childhood stomping ground where he had legions of fans before the world caught an earful including Bishop Gallery  owner, Erwin John shared,There was something about his voice and how it sounded over the music. His voice and the way he delivered the words made you want to listen closely to what B.I.G had to say. Then you’d listen and realize he not only sounded great, but that his words were so vivid his stories would come to life before your eyes “.

DJ Clark Kent, who not only produced for Biggie but, was also a close friend talked about curating the exhibit saying, “I am truly honored & humbled to have been chosen to curate an exhibit that pays tribute to the man, the son, the father, the supreme talent, and my friend, that the world lost, way too soon, Christopher George Latore Wallace. Known to the world as the Notorious B.I.G. but to me he was known as “C-Dub”. I can only pray to make him proud.”
I hope to see all or at least most of Brooklyn coming out to represent and celebrate The Notorious B.I.G. all throughout the exhibits run. I’ll be there day one so, if you see me say hi!
The Opening Party for the exhibit will be Saturday, September 20th from 5pm to 9pm at The Bishop Gallery. It will feature music from the rappers timeless collection and new artwork honoring the late Great Christopher Wallace.
