I remember there was a time when I didn’t want to even go near any ‘anti-aging’ products because of what I thought it implied. Silly me.
The one thing I’ve learned in reviewing beauty products is that they are necessary and they make my skin feel beautiful. Now I welcome them. These moisturizers and facial products are the best things out there to keep your skin young and healthy from years of sun, wind and even makeup if that’s your thing. But there is definitely a difference in quality.
I received the Adeline Anti-Aging Moisturizerwith Matrixyl 3000 to review and as a bonus they sent me their Organic Eye Serum.
We’ll start with the moisturizer. Adeline’s Anti-Aging Face Cream is formulated with 5 powerful ingredients that fight wrinkles and rejuvenate your skin: Matrixyl, Witch Hazel, Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin C & Vitamin E.
My first question before I even opened the bottle was, ‘What is Matrixyl 3000?’
Upon researching I found out that there are ‘short term’ anti-wrinkle creams and treatments and ‘long term’ creams and treatments. Matrixyl is considered a long-term treatment so, using a product that includes it as an ingredients means that you will see the benefits for a longer period of time. This is a good thing, especially how pricey beauty products can be.
Now on to the price. This bottle can be found for $25 on Amazon.com. I’ve said this before that I tend to decide on skincare and beauty products based on how much it will cost me for a month’s supply. This bottle is 1.0 ozs and you’re only using one or two drops so it will last more than one month. That makes it worth the $25 if it is indeed a good product.
So, of course that’s next. How does it feel?
Now that the winter is here, my skin doesn’t have that sunny tanned glow and frankly it’s a bit dry with these horribly cold winds and I don’t wear foundation so, I need every little bit of help I can get.
The first thing I noticed is that it had a bit of a minty scent. I’m guessing that from the peppermint oil that’s in the ingredients. I love that because I’ve read that peppermint oil is very good for you skin. I even featured some on my holiday gift guide.
Well, I washed and applied on my face and neck as they suggested and it felt cool to the skin. Again this may be due to the peppermint, I’m not sure but, I liked the way it felt. My skin felt soft instantly. It does say to keep away from the eyes but, that’s okay. I have the eye serum for that.
My skin feels great. I love how soft it feels to the touch.
The one thing I’m not crazy about is the pump to get the cream out. I always find myself pushing down far too many times before anything comes out. Maybe I’m just impatient but, I always struggle with pumps designed like this one.
The product itself, however is really great and I recommend it especially with these winter storms heading our way. If you’re in a sunny part of the states, ‘well aren’t you the lucky one’. Just kidding. I’m not jealous at all but, this moisturizer is perfect for you to combat the sun. Best of both worlds.
Adeline Organic Eye Serum
As I said above, they sent me a bottle of their Organic Eye Serum as a bonus so I figured I’d add my two cents on that too.
Ever since I started doing beauty product reviews, I’ve become a fan of eye serums. Who knew. I love them and I’ll tell you why.
My eye area probably gets the most wear and tear on my face. I’m always getting my eyebrows waxed or threaded and I wear the most makeup on my eyes: Eyeliner, eye shadow and mascara.
I find that the eye serums keep the area around my eyes soft and smooth and I don’t have wrinkles so this is a preventative measure.
The key word that stuck out to me for the serum was ‘Organic’. The ingredients are all natural :
+ Cucumber extract, like other extracts in the aloe family, moisturizes your skin to diminish lines and wrinkles.
+ Chamomile extract soothes the skin around your eyes and reduces puffiness.
+ Aloe Barbadensis leaf juice improves collagen production to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and crow’s feet.
+ Sunflower seed oil contains antioxidant vitamins A, C, and E to prevent free radical damage, and fatty acids to prevent premature aging and promote new cell growth.
+ Usa Urvi leaf extract is a natural source of hydroquinone – reduces inflammation and the appearance of brown spots.
It’s great for sensitive skin (I know, I use it) and you just put it on before you go to bed and forget about it.
Much like the moisturizer, this is a quality product. I use both of them hand in hand and have had no issues with breakouts and I really appreciate that they’re not heavy or super creamy. A lot of times skincare products that are geared for winter use tend to be very heavy on the face so it feels good to be able to use this year round and still get the feel of the needed extra coverage in the winter.
You can purchase the Adeline Organic EyeSerum on Amazon.com as well. This bottle is $35 for 15 ml.
I received one or more of the products or services mentioned above for free in the hope that I would mention it on my blog.
