Anime NYC Powered by Crunchyroll was back for 2021 at the Jacob Javitz Center. Last year’s (2020) event was canceled as the world shut down for the Covid pandemic. This event was brought back as NYC is still taking precautions so, everyone who attended had strict guidelines and felt safe.
There were definitely very long lines on the first day as should be expected. We are all getting used to handling people, crowds, and events during the pandemic, but all went much smoother by the 2nd day.
Anime NYC did a great job and we were so happy to be there and take in all the new and exciting Anime toys, cartoons, movies from Japan, and of course, the stars of the show, fans in cosplay.
Everyone who attends Anime NYC mentions how chill and relaxed the event as compared to others. They really cater to the fans. Also, it’s easy to navigate around the Javit’s Center to find the booths you are looking for specifically. It’s also easier to discover new and exciting things.
The best thing about it is finding like minds and souls and just kicking back and enjoying yourself. It was really lovely to be there and let loose with caution (as you see people are in masks) with other Anime fans.
If you missed it this year, don’t be sad or cry your eyes out. It will be back next year. Check their site for information on the 2022 convention: AnimeNYC.com
Until then. Stay strong! LOL! See you in 2022!
