Liberty Science Center is one of the coolest places to visit. I talk to people all the time that have either been there and they want to go again or people who have yet to go but are setting time.
This past Friday we hung out at Liberty Science Center’s newest event which is called Extreme LSC.
Parents, grandparents, aunties, cousins or whoever are encouraged to bring those special kids in their lives for a night of extreme fun.
The event is every fourth Friday from 6 pm – 10 pm and offers laser tag, a ball pit, a lab to learn how to make slime and there’s even a deejay with a dance floor. There’s something for everyone. The kids will be thoroughly entertained and so will you.
The laser tag is on the first floor. Ball Pit, food and deejay are on the second floor. The Slime lab is on the third floor.
Ball Pit
We were making our way to the third floor so we could then work our way down through each experience, but we didn’t quite make it because Aaron saw the ball pit on the second floor and asked if he could jump in. He absolutely loves ball pits (who doesn’t?) so that was the first stop. We were a little jealous that adults couldn’t participate, however it was so much fun seeing the kids jump, dive and fall into the ball pit. Some even tried to swim through them. It’s very organized. Each session lasts five minutes which is enough time for kids to work themselves out.
Food and Deejay
After the ball pit we decided to eat since it was on the same floor and we were all hungry. There’s plenty of options to choose from in the cafeteria and the prices are very reasonable. They even have beer and wine available for the adults.
While eating a song came on that Aaron loved and he ran to the dance floor and did his thing. A lot of the kids seemed to really enjoy the deejay. He played current music and mixed in some tunes that parents would enjoy.
Slime Room
Our next stop was the slime room. We didn’t realize that they recommended that you reserve a time. Since we didn’t, we stood in the “stand-by” line. We didn’t wait long at all and the best part is that Aaron was able to play in the surrounding exhibits while we waited because after all, it is Liberty Science Center so there is something to do and keep you entertained wherever you turn.
You can sit with your child for this experience and learn how to make slime along with them. The best part is that you get to take the slime you home with you in a neat little container. We made enough for three containers.
Laser Tag
Our last stop was laser tag which is right at the entrance as you walk in. Most of the kids were so excited about this part of the night. The line seemed long, but it moved fairly quickly. Again, so organized. Oh, and adults are welcome to participate which is super cool. This event is not timed. You stay in until you get hit enough with the lasers that it deactivates your laser. If your laser light turns red then you won’t be able to use it anymore and you have to leave the laser tag room.
Overall it was a fun-filled night. Liberty Science Center does it again and I thank them for the invite and experience. For more information about Extreme LSC visit: LSC.org/Extreme
