My daughter recently bought our cats Twyla and Xena and our dog, Pugsley those food trays that refill and keep an endless amount of food available for them to eat all day. I took one look at Pugsley and thought that he had gained a significant amount of weight since I’d seen him last and stressed how important it is to monitor your pet’s weight.
Pugsley is a very active dog. He gets walked regularly and he likes to be outside running around with other dogs. He loves to chase the cats around the house and he seems to have an endless amount of energy. Even with all of that physical activity, it’s very easy for him to gain weight especially since he’s so small. He’s half-pug and half-border terrier. For his size, he should maintain a weight of about 20lbs.
We usually weigh Pugsley and the cats the best the way we can which is to stand on a scale and hold them in our hand then subtract our weight to get their weight. It’s not the MOST accurate way to track their weight which is why I was more than happy to try out this EatSmart Precision Digital Baby and Pet Check Weight scale. If you’re going to monitor your pet’s weight at home you may as well do it right.
EATSMART PRECISION DIGITAL BABY AND PET CHECK WEIGHT SCALE
Here are something I appreciated:
Easy to Set Up
I took it out of the box and added the batteries which are included and put it on the floor ready to be used. It didn’t need to be put together and nothing had to be calibrated.
Lightweight and Compact
The EatSmart Precision Scale is very light. I can hold it and walk around with it in one hand. It can easily fit in the closet, on a shelf or under the bed. It can be moved from room to room easily.
Easy to Clean
It can be wiped down with a cloth so you can disinfect and keep it clean which is helpful it pets have muddy feet. This is also good if you are using it for a baby. You want to make sure the scale has no germs.
It did take a little convincing to get Puglsey on the scale. He likes to play around so he kept jumping over it but once he was on he stayed and I was able to get his weight which was 9.66 kg. That’s about 21 pounds so he has put on a little bit of weight. We will need to curb the food intake and keep monitoring.
If you’re interested in monitoring your pet’s weight then I recommend this scale from EatSmart. You can purchase it on their website or on Amazon.
