I’ve always been curious about holistic treatments. When I hear my friends discuss their holistic doctors recommendations and treatments it makes me want to seek out one of my own. That’s why I was drawn to Dr. Reza Ghorbani’s book “Secrets to a Pain Free Life”.
I’m not a chronic sufferer of pain at the moment, luckily, but, I have a lot of people in my circle who are suffering so I jumped at the chance to read and review this book.
I flipped through the pages when I first got the book and saw recipes. Ooooh, there’s one for ‘Chicken Biryani’ that looks amazing.
I also want to add that this book reads so easy from page to page. It’s informative and easy to understand.
It’s a familiar sensation but hard to understand and treat
The first chapter explains pain.
What pain feels like and it affects you. How it makes you feel.
That may seem simplistic but, to people who suffer chronic pain on a daily basis to the point of not being able to verbalize it, this chapter is everything.
Dr. Ghorbani goes on to describe how people live with chronic pain and adapt as if it’s a normal occurrence for everyone.
He talks about how it affects your mood and psyche and delves into prescription drugs and people self-medicating to escape the pain.
Pain isn’t one thing. It’s about everything you do from diet to exercise to handling stress.
Starting from Chapter 5 on Dr. Ghorbani focuses on lifestyle, eating habits, obesity and stress as obstacles to a healthy lifestyle.
He explains how changing these aspects of your life to healthier approach will help alleviate some of the chronic pain you feel just by being stress free.
Secrets To A Pain Free Life gives a lot of really great suggestions to relieve chronic pain. It’s also written with a story teller approach which makes it easy to read and understand the information presented.
