When I was growing up Madam CJ Walker was a woman that was mentioned regularly in my school especially during Black History Month for her achievements as a woman and African American. She accomplished what at the time may have seemed like the impossible. She created a success hair care line for black women, made an amazing amount of money and left behind a proud history.
With all that said, it’s very fitting that at the end of Black History Month and the start of Women’s History Month the Madam CJ Walker line has been relaunched with the help and blessing of her great great granddaughter A’Lelia Bundles who serves as the official Madam C.J. Walker historian and biographer.
The hair care line will be available exclusively at Sephora and consists of four collections that address the cleansing, treatment and styling needs of all hair textures.
There are 3 styling collections:
- Brassica Seed & Shea Oils Collection(Smoothing/Style-Extending)
- Coconut & Moringa Oils Collection (Frizz Fighting/Humidity-
- Blocking)
- Jamaican Black Castor & Murumuru Oils Collection (Curl-Defining/Moisture-Sealing)
And 1 treatment collection:
- Dream Come True Collection (Scalp & Strand Nourishing).
Bundles shared her excitement about the collection saying,

This is one time I’m happy that something from the past is being rebooted. It’s a great bit of history and welcome rebirth for the beauty and hair care fiends like me.
