Actor R. Marcos Taylor shares how he prepared for the role of Suge Knight, what he thinks Suge will think of his portrayal, the time he knocked a man out cold for two days + more.
One of the most anticipated pop culture movies of the summer, “Straight Outta Compton” about the rise and fall of Compton, California hip hop group N.W.A. (N***** With Attitude) is set to be released on August 14th and not without some controversy.
From people questioning why there is even a need for an N.W.A. movie to activists feeling the misogynistic history of the group will be watered down or non-existent to Suge Knight’s infamous and unfortunately deadly visit on set trying to get a word with Dr. Dre.
With all that, newcomer R. Marcos Taylor has taken on the larger than life role of the Death Row Records co-founder and former CEO Marion “Suge” Knight in the bio-pic which is directed by F. Gary Gray.
We had a chance to talk to R. Marcos Taylor where he shared his beginnings as a stuntman, how he prepared for the role of Suge Knight as well as what he feels will be the impact of this movie.
Taylor also mentions some things he learned about Suge like a particular fashion preference and just how many cigars he had to smoke daily for this role.
