Do you use sunless tanners? I’ve never used one for many reasons for a few reasons:
- They look like they would be messy to apply
- I already have a medium complexion
- and I’ve seen too many people who use them walking around looking like they are related to Oompa Loompa’s with their orangey colored faces.
However, I have been curious so I jumped at the chance to review ThermaLabs Glow2Go Self-Tanning Towelettes. I wasn’t sure what to expect but with the brutal winter we’ve been having here in NYC I figured if I can’t escape to a Caribbean island then hopefully I can at least look like did.
The towelettes come in a box of 20 and the instructions are simple enough. Just open up the towelette and apply.
I decided to test it on a small portion on the inside of my arm since that’s the lighter portion of my skin and also to see if I’d have an allergic reaction. Testing for allergic reaction is a common thing for me when I’m reviewing something that I have to put on my skin because I’m very sensitive so, if I have a break out I can let you guys who are super sensitive and allergic know to avoid the product.
The instructions say to wait at least 10 minutes before you put clothes on the treated area and it also says that you should notice a difference in 4 hours. I figured I’d put it on before I head to bed to keep myself from staring at my arm for four hours straight to see if there was a difference.
The first thing I really liked about the towelettes is that the tanning treatment is CLEAR so I didn’t have to wear gloves or worry about it getting on the clothes I was wearing. I really thought that the towelette would be tinted with the tanning color.
When I woke up in the morning I noticed a difference. I could see the tanning had taken to my skin compared to my other tanless arm. It was a subtle tint but, it looked very natural. If you have the same skin complextion as me then you will have to apply a few times to get a nice bronze look.
Lighter skin will take to the tint easier and quicker of course.
Since it is such a subtle tint it was difficult to show in the pictures so, I’m going to apply some more and take a side by side photo of my arms so you can see the difference.
Also, it’s fine for sensitive skin. I didn’t have a break out.
Here are the key things I liked about the Glow2Glow towelettes:
- There is no scent.
- The towelettes have a clear liquid on them so it’s not messy. The tint is not orangey so, no oompa loompa look.
- The price – $30 for 20 towelettes is a great price in comparison to other self-tanning brands and they always have sales. Right now they have a 50% off sale so you should get them today.
- Convenience – You can take the towelettes with you anywhere. Just pop them in your bag
As I mentioned, you may have to apply a few times to get the desired color. The instructions state that you can reapply every 4 hours. I noticed coloring with the one swipe so, I’m very interested in seeking what a few days of application will look like and as I said, I will post the results.
Thermalabs Glow 2 Go Self-Tanning Towelettes are $30 on Amazon.com and they are having a 50% off sale so now is the time to buy them to test them out for yourself.
