Music Corner: Celluloid Premium Guitar Picks by Ceol Wave (Video Review)

Learning to play the guitar is on my bucket list for 2015. I have the guitar and I have the desire and determination. I intend to teach myself. Yes, indeed.

As I prep myself to become the next Richard Thompson I didn’t realize that one bit of a debate is to use a pick or not to use a pick. Some people are all for using your bare fingers while others believe solely in using guitar picks.

Well, I received a pack of Celluloid Premium Guitar Picks from Ceol Wave. They came in a sleek black velvet pouch and they are as onyx in color as they come.

The picks are a ‘medium’ which seems to be a standard size that is used by beginners and experts.
I had to give them a try as you can see in the video. Actually, I tested them out for a little longer than I show in the video but, I don’t want to bore you with my lack of guitar skills.

I thought I would feel awkward using them but they feel quite comfortable and I prefer them to my bare hands. You can actually hear the difference in my video from me strumming with my fingers versus the Ceol Wave pick.

They are also a much better quality than the picks that came with the guitar. Those picks seem rather flimsy in comparison and it was also rough and uncomfortable in my hand. I’m pretty sure the quality of sound is affected as well. Here’s a picture of the two side by side.

You can see that the Ceol Wave pick is so much better. I’m glad I got them otherwise I may have been turned off to using picks altogether.

So, in conclusion, these make a really good gift for a novice to a pro. I know I’m happy with them. Hope you will be too.
