#HolidayGiftGuide: Smooth Wind Kites + Tips For A Great Flight (Giveaway)

Kites are awesome. Whether you’re a novice or an expert flier they make a great gift that the family can enjoy together.

I absolutely love the kites on Smooth WindKites. Not only do they have a great selection, the quality is amazing and they are incredibly helpful with advice on what kite would work best for you.
I received the Tree Frog Best Flyer kite and it’s huge, colorful and so well made. I’ve never seen such a nice kite in person. The kite is constructed from ripstop nylon that includes a 300′ line, flight ring, and an Easy Attach Swivel Clip.
I want to fly it so bad but, the weather is not too great here in NYC right now. As so as I can I’m going to head to Prospect Park and test it out.
You can get a starter set like the single-line Tree Frog kite I received and gradually build up to stunt and power kites as your skills improve.

They even have Kite Combo Packs so everyone in your family can join in the fun with a kite of their own.
The kites are packed in compact cases making them easy for family travel and are very affordable.
Smooth Wind Kites was even awesome enough to send over some tips for a great flight.
Kite Flying Tips:

  1. Fly your kite within the recommended wind range.
  2. No need to run with a quality kite – if you have trouble launching, have a friend hold the kite 50 ft downwind, raise up in the air and release while you pull the string to gain altitude.
  3. Avoid turbulence by staying clear of trees, buildings or any other large objects that could affect your smooth wind.
  4. Never fly near storm clouds, roadways, power lines or airports.
  5. Have fun and enjoy your flight!
You can purchase your kite exclusively by visiting SmoothWindKites.com. Make sure you come back and let me know which one you decide to buy and fly.

They are also being generous enough to gift a kite to one of my lucky readers. They will determine an appropriate kite to send the winner.  Enter to win below and good luck!
Have a merry flying season!
