The concept of Due in a Few is so simple, yet so great.
Created by Dominique Sachse Florescu, an EMMY award winning main news anchor at NBC news station KPRC-TV in Houston and her husband, Nick Florescu, Due in a Fewis a pin that a woman can wear to announce to the world that she’s pregnant.
The ribbon represents the gift you are about to receive in 9 months and the heart represents a mother’s love.
There are so many different scenarios where I think a pin signifying that you are pregnant would be perfect.
The early months of pregnancy is the first one I can think of off the top of my head. It’s when we tend to feel queasy, tired or dizzy and may need to take a seat but, it’s also when we look the least pregnant. If you’ve ever been on a crowded train then you know if you don’t look pregnant, you’re not getting a seat.
This is a nice subtle way if you’re not feeling well to say, ‘Ahem, though I don’t look it right now, I am with child, may I please sit’. It may or may not work here in NYC but, we can be expectantly optimistic.
Also, when you’re pregnant one of the most common question you get besides ‘When are you due?’ is “Do you know if it’s a boy or a girl?’ You can opt to wear the blue or pink pin to let everyone know.
There is also a white pin if you don’t know the sex of the child or don’t want to reveal it to anyone.
I think it’s super adorable and a nice fun touch for a mom to be to add to her pregnancy.
As always, I love to include the gifts that keep on giving and Due in a Few is one of those with a portion of the proceeds benefiting The March of Dimes.
