They say that the best stories come from experience and that laughter is the best medicine. New author K. Edward has taken both of these common phrases to task for her hilariously titled first book, “Five Nincompoops, the Princess, and One Savior: How It All Went Down”.
The book reflects on Edward’s trials, tribulations and often funny encounters as she searches for love while trying to stay true to herself and her faith.
We had a chance to chat with K. Edward for our Author Spotlight and though you’ll have to read the book to find out how each encounter with the five nincompoops went down and to see if she did indeed find true love you can learn a little bit about her before diving into the book.

What inspired you to become a writer?
My inspiration for becoming a writer had everything to do with always feeling like what I had to say wasn’t worth listening too. As a child I found myself often hiding behind my notebook as that was the only way I knew how to express myself. And even then I rarely shared my work.
Who is your favorite author?
Who is your favorite author?
John Kennedy Toole. The Confederacy of Dunces. It’s special to me. My dad sent a copy of it to me while he was in prison. He said this book had him laughing out loud so much so the guards and other inmates thought it peculiar. The idea of reading and laughing out loud. I read it! And it was freakin hysterical, but it (book) is an acquired taste. I guess that was the first time we’d (my dad and I) connected.
What books have influenced your life most?
The books that have influenced my life: The Bible, The Prophet, Where the Wild Things Are, Acts of Faith to name a few.
Describe your book in 30 words or less.
A honest and very transparent story of one woman’s search for true love while struggling in some instances to remain faithful and committed to her relationship with God.
Why should we read it?
This book is freaking hilarious and comes from a place of genuinity (I think I just made that word up) as each relationship/nincompoop is much different from the last. The reader will easily connect with the princess and after the first few pages, find themselves all in and unable to put it down.
