DJ Clark Kent reminisces about his friend, the late great Notorious B.I.G. and what inspired him to curate the exhibit.
If you haven’t been down to The Bishop Gallery in Bedstuy, Brooklyn to see ‘The Only Christopher We Acknowledge is Wallace’ Exhibit, uhh, what the hell are you waiting for?
The exhibit is still running until October 17th. Don’t sleep. It’s a great representation of Biggie brought to life with paintings, murals, collages, knit pieces and more. There’s even a skateboard with an image of Biggie drawn and painted on it. Oh, and a domino table.
While I was there, I was lucky enough to have the chance to speak to DJ Clark Kent. We talked about his inspiration for curating the exhibit. We touched on why and how he went about picking the pieces that would be displayed and why he felt they represented The Notorious BIG best.
We also had a chance to talk about some of his upcoming projects which floored me. No, really, I’m really psyched about what he’s working on. I will say it’s with one of my favorite artists of all time. You’ll have to watch the video to see.
And finally, since it IS the ‘5 Element Series’, I had to ask him what he felt were the five elements to being a great deejay. I think you guys will be surprised at what he has to say.
Check the interview and definitely check out the exhibit at The Bishop Gallery until October 17th:
