An interview with Australian singer Bianca Hendy for our Indie Spotlight Series + her new single “Coming Down”.
If you haven’t heard of Bianca Hendy, you should do yourself a favor and check out the music she’s sharing with us here today.
I have to admit, when I first took a listen to her new single ‘Coming Down’ I was blown away by her voice.
The independent singer, songwriter and guitarist hailing from down under aka Australia definitely reminded me a little bit of Bjork.
“Coming Down” is the first single from Hendy’s upcoming debut EP “Cheap Rumours” and if it’s any indication of what we can expect from the rest of the album then we’re in for some really great music.
Check out the single below and 7 quick questions with Bianca as part of our Indie Spotlight Series.

My music kind speaks about challenges that myself and others close to me have been through. It’s got a real raw acoustic sound, with some raspy vocals I guess you’d say.
Tell us about your new single “Coming Down”.
This song I actually got the idea from after someone said to me “when you get high you’re bound to come down” I guess that stuck with me, and I started writing and this song is the outcome. I think it speaks for itself when you hear it.
What inspired you to pursue music?
Just listening to great music growing up made me want to pursue music. I loved writing and the two found each other.
What has been your greatest career accomplishment so far?
I think the feedback I’ve been receiving has been my greatest accomplishment, people saying they can relate to my music I absolutely love that!
I guess it’s a challenging field to be in, so that would probably be my biggest challenge competing with other artists, but at the end of the day I love doing what I’m doing.
Who is your favorite artist?
I don’t really have an outstanding favourite artist but I’ve always loved blink 182, just kind of stuck with me since I was 13. I loved their energy.
What’s your career goal for the upcoming year?
To bring out my new single, and really start getting my career on the way to where I want to be!
