It’s day two of me venturing into the sneaker world as I try to find a nice comfortable running shoe and I’m starting to notice that I kind of like more styles than I thought I would.
It all started with a pair of non-running kickscatching my eye yesterday and now I see myself perusing sneakers from a ‘what would I wear those with’ point of view.
I’ve decided that I might as well go ahead and get some kicks to pair with different outfits when I’m out and about casually instead of just buying a pair for my running exploits or at least window shop for some for now.
It’d be nice to switch up from sandal, flip flop or flat shoe to a pair of sneakers to complete and outfit for a change.
What I’m realizing is that I like the bolder, wilder colors like these Converse CONS First String Engineered Auckland Racer.
Yeah, I know, usually when people think of Converse they think of chucks which still remain incredibly popular at least here in NYC amongst teens and Brooklyn Hipsters.
Anyhoo, what do you think of these Converse? Are they too bold in color? I really like mint ones for some reason. I’d wear them with a mint shirt and short white tennis skirt or even a long one.
I’m not too crazy about the blue ones though. They look a bit grandpa-ish. No offense to grandpas, I just don’t want to be seen in the same sneakers as them.
The Converse First Strings in Mint Leaf and Fiery Coral will be available at Converse retail stores, Bodega in Boston, Juice in Hong Kong and Patta in Amsterdam on Friday, Aug. 15 for a suggested retail price of $120 USD.
