I wonder what it would feel like to go through a shoebox of old family photos and find a photo of a relative next to a Hollywood icon. That’s what happened to Chris Orestis.
He found this gem of a photo of the late Marilyn Monroe next to his grandfather Col. Jack Kelsey, commander of the Taegu Air Force Base.
The photo was taken during her first trip outside of the US; a 10 day trip to Korea to visit the troops. It also happened to be midway into her honeymoon with Joe DiMaggio.
That’s pretty badass if you ask me.
Marilyn was 28 years old in the photo. She passed away 52 years ago and to this day she continues to fascinate and draw people in to her beauty and awe.
