Film Spotlight: Interview with “Creed of Gold” Director Daniel Knudsen (DVD Release 8/12)

This story illustrates nicely that there are absolutes in the world and that God is the author of those absolutes. – Dove.org

Wherever there’s money, there’s corruption so they say or at least that’s what college student Adam Smith (Taylor Lindsey) searches to find out rather innocently when he’s assigned a term paper about the United States Federal Reserve.

As he digs deeper with his research partner Kirsten (Ellen Lawrence) he ventures down a path to unmask the corruption and ultimately clear his father’s name who lost his life years before due to the corruption.
Creed of Gold, is a story about being faced with greed and corruption and deciding what is morally and ethically the right thing to do.
With the clock ticking, can Adam can bring down the international monetary syndicate responsible for the death of this own father and behind the destruction of missions around the globe before he himself is permanently eliminated?
Creed of Gold is an independent film produced by Daniel Knudson who is joining us today to talk about the movie and share some insights as and independent director in the film industry.
The movie, which has been approved by Dove.org as family friendly, will be available for purchase on August 12th at Christian Movies Direct and is distributed by CMD.

Thank you so much, Daniel, for taking the time to answer these questions.
When did you first become interested in films?
I was interested in filmmaking from about as far back as I can remember. While I was finishing up highschool I started getting more seriously involved in it. I got my first chance to work on set as a production assistant when I was 17 and I absolutely loved it. From there it has been an adventure.
What influenced to become a director?
I was interested in acting and storytelling. With those being my two of my passions, directing is the combination of the best of both worlds.
How did Creed of Gold come about?
My dad had been going through some economics material and had an idea for a feature film script. In time that idea became “Creed of Gold”.
Tell us in 30 words or less why we should see Creed of Gold?
You should see Creed of Gold because Byron Jones does an awesome job at distribution and you should purchase as many DVD’s from him as you possibly can. Be sure to recommend to all your friends to do the same.
Once you have done that, post on social media so that others can find out about these wonderful titles as well.
Oops, that went over 30 words, let me rephrase, here is the answer for the interview:

We set out to create an engaging story about a love for truth that overcomes against great challenges. If that describes your favorite stories, I hope you enjoy this one.

What has been your biggest career accomplishment?

Well, I feel like I just began filmmaking though almost a decade has gone by. I’m very grateful to be working in this industry and doing what I love. I feel like my biggest accomplishment has been working with many talented people to bring powerful stories to the big screen.

What has been your biggest challenge in the industry?
Using your time well and knowing where to invest it is probably the toughest part. I’ve seen that if the right amount of time is spent in the right places many other challenges can be diminished or avoided.

What advice would you give someone looking to get into directing or producing films?

It is a very competitive industry and a very demanding career. It has to be a calling, and if it’s for you, you will absolutely love it.

What are you working on next?
I have a new movie called “Rather to be Chosen” currently in post-production. I look forward to seeing whatever the Lord has for me next.
