VH-1 & Republic Records Announce 24 Finalists For “Make A Band Famous” Live Stream Competition

VH-1and Republic Records (Ariana Grande, 3 Doors Down, Amy Winehouse, Black Sabbath) have teamed up to bring an amazing opportunity to 24 acts with a pretty cool competition called Make A Band Famous that will be live streamed for 24 hours.

I love that it’s bands, hip hop artists, duos and just an eclectic mix of music. There’s something for everyone. This is truly a music lover’s dream competition.

I’ll be there watching it go down live and you can too either by requesting free tickets to the performances in Brooklyn or watching it online or through the VH-1 app.

All 24 hours, which will be hosted by The All-American Rejects frontman Tyson Ritter, will be raw, uncut and uncensored on VH1.com and the VH1 App starting Wednesday, June 11th at 8 PM ET/5 PM PT.

Fans in the New York City area can attend the live finale in Red Hook, Brooklyn on Thursday, July 12th. For more information, visit 1iota.com.

The competition began in May with contestants submitting 15 second recordings and fans voted through social media leading to the top 24 coming to NYC.

The 24 finalists will compete in a series of challenges over the 24 hours, such as learning a cover song in an hour, reimagining a classic hit with toy instruments, busking for money and fans in Williamsburg and much more.

At the end of the competition, one band will reign supreme and seize the opportunity of a lifetime with Republic Records – the label that enjoyed Nielsen Soundscan’s #1 Market Share in 2014 and continues to grow rapidly – and VH1.
