Signed, Sealed, Delivered is a new series airing on the Hallmark Channel by Executive Producer Martha Williamson who also brought us the highly successful television show ‘Touched By An Angel’.
Signed, Sealed, Delivered is about a group of postal workers who have started up a special division of the postal service that takes mail that never reached its destination and searches to find the intended recipient, the original writer and eventually both.
I liked the concept and was happy to receive a preview of this upcoming Sunday’s episode titled “The Future Me”.
Before, I continue, I will say that this episode had me tearing up in a feel good kind of way. I knew with the family based theme of Hallmark shows and Martha Williamson’s past show “Touched By An Angel” that it would be enjoyable but, I didn’t expect to be so moved by the storyline.
The episode I previewed has the main characters trying to find the recipient of a letter a young high school girl wrote almost 7 years ago. They manage to find the girl who wrote it and the person the letter was intended for at the same time.
The girl who wrote the letter has Down Syndrome and as the episode unfolds you learn the challenges she’s faced, her strength and ultimately how her family move on in a positive and understanding light.
Signed, Sealed, Delivered is a spiritual show that incorporates many bible scriptures within the episode to draw a connection with every day issues and the Christian faith and it’s done very well.
I’m Christian but, not overly religious, whatever that means and I didn’t find the show preachy. Honestly, if I wasn’t told that it was a major component of the show I would not have even noticed.
I did, however, try my best to catch any and every bible quote throughout. Some I recognized and others I’m not so sure.
I’m a little rusty but, there is a bible study group that does a better job of keeping track for those that want to incorporate a little trivia fun and spiritual lesson while watching the show. You can sign up here for the bible study connected to this show:
This episode also has a side story dealing with a postal competition with Marilu Henner guest staring as major character in that story line. I thought it was cute how it unfolded but, the impact of the main story really had a hold on me.
My overall thoughts on Signed, Sealed, Delivered is that it’s a really good show to watch with your family or if you’re in the mood for some feel good, a pick me up or a reminder that the simple things in life are the most important.
I’d like to see the main characters developed more. I felt as if they all had the same type of personality…very stoic and awkward. I’m not sure if that’s intentional but, I’d like to feel more of a connection with them as the show moves on because I will be tuning in.

About Signed, Sealed, Delivered
The new original series “Signed, Sealed, Delivered” is a wonderful combination of romance, comedy and drama that follows the lives of four postal detectives who transform themselves into a team of detectives to track down intended recipients of undeliverable mail.
Their missions take them out of the office where redirected letters and packages can save lives, solve crimes, reunite old loves and change futures by arriving late but somehow always on time.
The team includes charming Oliver O’Toole (Eric Mabius), the group’s leader is a man of faith who prayerfully approaches his work with the goal of making a difference in people’s lives; new team member, Shane McInerney (Kristin Booth), a technophile who brings 21st century sensibility to the group; free-spirited, “girl next door” Rita Haywith (Crystal Lowe) who has a photographic memory; and lovable Norman Dorman (Geoff Gustafson), a master in conventional research methods.
