…to reach our goal of being financially free, we need to change our mind-set in order to live without working for money.
Financial freedom is something that most people working to earn a dollar are pursing for many different reasons.
Some want to have the ability to buy what they want when they want it while others crave the luxury of traveling around the world while others just want to be able to spend more quality time with your family stress free.
Whatever the reason, it’s something many want to achieve and often times need help to map out steps to take towards their financial freedom.
Michael Warren Munsey is one of those people on the path towards financial freedom and he’s documented his pursuit in his new book, “An Average Joe’s Pursuit for Financial Freedom”.
One of the first things that the author mentions in the book is that he’s not giving anyone any new information as far as steps to take. What he does do in this book is explain what has worked and what hasn’t worked for him and his family.
The book does explain the basics as far a financial planning, your credit score, assets versus liabilities and bad debt versus good debt. You get a nice condensed explanation that’s perfect whether you’re new to the terms and what they mean or if you’re familiar and just need a brush up.
“Life is too short for us not to enjoy the money we earn. I do not recommend lowering the standard of living we desire to provide for our family. We must search for ways to make additional money for purchasing assets.”
I like that the book is written as he’s going through the process because it’s relatable to the everyday things your average person with a job, family and responsibilities go through.
Often times when you read books dealing with financial freedom there is this sense that you’re starting with a clean slate, no responsibilities, no debt and a pocket full of cash just waiting to be invested.
That’s not most people’s reality which is what makes “An Average Joe” a great read.
He does a great job of breaking down the things that are needed when you take the step to purchase a home for profit which he did and many of us are interested in doing. He explains what worked and what didn’t work.
“The goals we set should be benchmarked along the path of going toward our primary goal of being financially free”
He also touches on work from home ventures that his wife pursued and which ones he felt were not the best investment and ultimately where she found success.
I enjoyed the book for its honesty and again, the fact that your average person or average Joe can see themselves throughout the book.
