Music Spotlight: From Mumbai to LA – Meet Singer/Songwriter Vshali Sanas (@vshalisanas)

Independent singer and songwriter Vshali Sanas hails from Mumbai and currently calls Los Angeles, California her home while she pursues her musical aspirations.

Influenced by Bollywood, R&B and Pop she’s set to bring a unique and exciting sound to the music scene. We’re looking forward to her upcoming EP and are excited to feature Vshali Sanas in our music spotlight series.

Thank you for your interview, can you tell our readers about your music?
Thank you! I’m a Singer. My music is more POP and R&B, and it’s about connecting with the souls of my audience and their real-life stories, yet fun.

Where are you from?
I’m basically from Mumbai, India and currently in Los Angeles, California.

One year goals with music?
To bridge the gap between Eastern and Western Music through my original work. Also, I’m hugely into Soccer and sports, so having some music made for sports too. I have one project coming up on those lines soon!


Do you write your own lyrics and music?
Yes, I’m a Songwriter. I have around 15 songs to be produced soon in English and other Indian Languages. My music talks about simple experiences in life, which relates to any common person. At the same time its groovy. Its all about connecting with their regular amazing lives.

Favorite places to play?
I Loved playing at Whiskey a Go Go recently, other places I like are The Hotel Cafe, The Mint, The Wiltern…..
I used to like open mics around LA too when I started.

Your favorite musical inspirations?
I love listening to Indian folk music and Bollywood!
In the west, I like Jazz, R&B, and Pop music of course. And I try to listen to all kinds around the world, music is music! and I like being Global!!
