Austin Giorgio from Rochester, New York credits his father for his love of Jazz. The young singer was thrusted into the spotlight when he auditioned and made it onto the popular TV show “The Voice” on team Blake. He makes heads turn with his pop-jazz mix of music that is often self written and produced coupled with a velvet singing style that pays homage to Frank Sinatra while also drawing inspiration from artists like Michael Buble, Mac Miller, Drake and Frank Ocean.
Fresh off that experience he is set to release his new single “Shooting Stella” off of his debut album, Crooner. We had the pleasure of interviewing Austin Giorgio for our Music Spotlight series and get a sneak peek of the new single and to talk about his time on “The Voice” and what’s next for this talented up and coming crooner.

Tell us about your new single “Shooting Stella”
Shooting Stella is the story of every hopeless romantic that falls for the stranger they see around town. The song was almost entirely produced and written in my hotel room during my appearance on NBC’s The Voice.
The song is sung through the lens of a gentleman who sees a young woman walking into a cafe. He notices every little detail about her, the walk, the way she talks on the phone, down to her mannerisms. From a distance he falls in love yet never has the confidence to actually introduce himself. The chorus recites:

Stating “She’s so beautiful, She’s a shooting Stella (star)”.
I wanted the listener to feel happily trapped in this gentlemen’s shoes. It’s not until the bridge that the song hints at him potentially introducing himself, but he is unable to find the confidence and the climactic ending comes back to the chorus almost like a sigh when I sing “Oh dear (that was close)”
It is ironic how this song came to be, mainly because as I was halfway through the writing process, I began to realize it loosely reflected how my sister, Devin and her now husband, Nico, met. They both would see each other around town and went to the same country line dancing hall called Nashville’s in Rochester, NY.
Nico has told our family the story of when he first saw Devin there. He was with a friend of his and pointed at my sister stating “someday she’ll be my girlfriend”. Four years later they are married and truly a perfect match (my sister is a crazy Italian, and he is a calm one, so they balance each other out -lol). Because of all this, at their wedding, I dedicated the song to them.
What inspired you to pursue music?
Music was never something that I actually sought to pursue. I actually wanted to run a small business, probably something Bicycle focused. It wasn’t until January of 2017 that I took it upon myself to purchase basic recording equipment and sing covers of my favorite songs.

Greatest career accomplishment so far?
The greatest accomplishment for me to date would have to be my experience on NBC’s The Voice. Through
Working with Blake Shelton for half the year also was a great experience, I learned the in’s and out’s of the music business and life of an artist. I must say, the glamour of a successful artist comes with many sacrifices and talking with Blake and others have helped me create a blueprint for my career path.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Life balance. I’ve always been a very work oriented person and now that I’m working on something I truly love, it is the greatest struggle to have a balanced life. I’m consistently working on music and everything involved with it 10-12 hours a
