We’ve all heard the saying “Everything’s Bigger in Texas” and if you’ve ever visited or plan to then find it hard to disagree. From Houston to Austin to Dallas you’ll find time and again from state fairs to state pride it’s all big.

The Colony, TX is no different. A small city in Denton within the suburbs of Dallas, it’s a great place to visit to get outside of the comfort zone of vacationing in the major cities we all tend to gravitate towards. Here’s 4 great reasons why The Colony, TX should be on your next vacation destination list.

Five Star Athletic Complex

The Colony, TX is home to one of the largest sports complex. It’s so big and impressive that Sports Illustrated Magazine named it the 50th Anniversary Sports Town of the United States.

It’s massive. There’s baseball fields, basketball courts, football and soccer. You’re never going to run out of things to do there but, you will do a lot of running in general.

Lewisville Lake

I love fishing and Lewisville Lake is a great place to catch largemouth bass and catfish. If fishing is not your thing then theirs boating, water-skiing, camping, hiking or even just a simple romantic picnic. You can even fire up the grill for some famous Texas bar-b-que.

Hawaiian Falls Water Park

Of course there’s a water park too and of course it’s BIG! The Hawaiian Falls Water Park looks like a huge 1 or 2 days of fun in the water and sun. It’s one of the best rated parks in Texas. The Flyin’ Hawaiian ride looks both fun and massively intimidating which is kind of what you want in an amusement park ride.

Urban 8

Another great reason to visit is food. Yes, food. My friend’s from Texas always say that the Mexican food here in New York City doesn’t even come close to what’s available in Texas and while that may be true, I always point out that we have variety. That looks like it’s about to change after recently reading about the upcoming restaurants in The Colony, TX.

The food court is set to open in March 2018 and will of course boast the best of the best including Taco Cielo which is known for their infamous guacamole. If you’re going to have a Mexican restaurant in The Colony TX it may as well be one of the best.
