Finding Noah: A Documentary on the Search For the ancient Ark

Documentaries that focus on the search for ancient artifacts have always fascinated me. It’s like a search for the unknown with known clues and facts. For me it probably started when I was younger. My dad had a subscription to National Geographic and I would pour through the pages reading for hours about places I’d never been, people unlike those in my everyday life, animals that I thought only existed in fairytales and history; Ancient history.

Add to that all the fictional movies that focused on real life documented facts like ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark”. So, of course a documentary about the search for Noah’s Ark is going to peak my interest.
Finding Noah is a story about modern Christian explorers trekking to Mt. Arafat a granite hill east of Mecca in the plain of Arafat (source) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Arafat. where the Ark is believed to have settled after the storm to search and dig for the massive boat.

The bible isn’t the only account of the existence of the ark. It was written about by multiple scholars. The location has been documented through many years as well.

The journey to search for Noah’s Ark took several years of preparation and a team. The treacherous conditions because of the hostile climate and the actual climate require you to be prepared for the trip. One lone traveler found out the hard way as you will see in the movie.

The team in the documentary was well prepared. This was their second trip. They were unsuccessful in their first trip as they chipped through the many layers of ice.

The key questions are ‘Does the ark really exist’? and ‘if it does exist is it located on Mount Arafat’?

I think it does exist. There’s enough documented historical literature across the world speaking of its existence and also noting that there was indeed a huge flood or rainstorm. I also believe that it is on Mount Arafat or very close.

Will these explorers find it? You’ll have to see the documentary to find out. It’s showing in theaters for one night October 8th. If you miss it, hopefully they’ll run it again or make it available on a streaming platform.

Do you think the ark exists? Do you think the explorers will find it? If they do what do you think they’ll find inside?
