Movie studios sure do like remakes. Many of us remember ‘The Jungle Book’ cartoon. How could we forget with infectious songs like “I Wanna Be Like You”? But, how many of you remember the live action movie made in 1994 by Disney?

I remember that it was made and I know I watched it but, I can’t remember a lick of it. Maybe I’m not alone and maybe that’s why Disney has decided to remake it for an April 2016 release.

The movie will star new comer Neel Sethi as Mowgli. The animals will be voiced by a who’s who of actors that  like Scarlett Johansson as Kaa the snake, Idris Elba as Shere Khan the tiger (take that James Bond), Giancarlo Esposito (I love him) as Akela the wolf, Ben Kingsley as Bagheera the cougar, Bill Murray as Baloo the bear, Christopher Walkenas King Louie the orangutan and Lupita Nyong’o as Raksha the female wolf.

Will this be as memorable as the cartoon? Or as forgettable as the original 1994 live action film that starred Jason Scott Lee as Mowgli. We’ll have to wait and see butDisney is giving us a mini sneak peek. And I do mean MINI. This clip is only 6 seconds long on Vine.

The full trailer will be out tomorrow. I hope it’s at least a few minutes of footage although they had me at Christopher Walken and Bill Murray.

In the meantime check out the teaser:

Are you excited about the  upcoming movie? If you could remake a Disney cartoon into a movie, which one would it be?
