Notorious BIG Art Exhibit Curated By DJ Clark Kent Opens in Bedstuy, Brooklyn

DJ Clark Kent & The Bishop Gallery Present ‘The Only Christopher We Acknowledge is Wallace’ Exhibit to honor the 20th Anniversary of Notorious BIG ‘Ready To Die” Album.

There were smiles, hip hop and lots of artwork with the image of Biggie Smalls to go around on Saturday, September 20th as ‘The Only ChristopherWe Acknowledge is Wallace exhibit curated by producer and DJ Clark Kent opened at the Bishop Gallery in Bedford Stuyvesant.
The room was filled with fans of the late great hip hop artist. The exhibit is to honor the 20thanniversary of Biggie’s classic debut album ‘Ready to Die’.
DJ Clark Kent handpicked each piece that is displayed.
I had a chance to interview Kent about how the idea came about to do the exhibit, his friendship with Biggie and his upcoming projects which as a hip hop head made me pretty damn happy. I’ll be posting a video of that interview later this week.

One question I asked Kent was how did he decide what pieces would make the exhibit. He said it ultimately ‘it had to speak to him’. He was basically looking for pieces that had ‘a story to tell’ and from the variety of artwork represented you’ll definitely get a multi-tude of stories.
My favorite piece from the exhibit is the post cover photo which is called ‘Designed For Greatness” by Eric Martinez. I was trying to figure out a way to take it home but, the security guard was not having it.

All of the artwork is amazing and the photos I’ll post up are only a small portion and they don’t capture the sheer detail that was taken to create them. You should make your way down and view the exhibit in person.

The exhibit runs from September 20th– October 17th at The Bishop Gallery, 916 Bedford Avenue, NY 11205…..and if you don’t know, now you know.

A special shoutout to Madison Davenport Media for the invite, baby baaaaabeh!
