Barbra Streisand’s New Album “Partners” features duets w/Elvis Presley, Billy Joel, Stevie Wonder & more

She’s back! And teamed up with male duet partners this time around.
Fresh off the CD/DVD release of her concert series “Back to Brooklyn”(Dec ’13), Barbra Streisand is set to release a new album titled “Partners” on September 16th on Columbia Records.

The album features 12 duets with popular male singers past and present. Well, all are currently present with the exception of Elvis Presley who is virtually teamed with Streisand on Presley’s popular “Love Me Tender” track.
The music icon made the release announcement on her brand new Instagram account (yes, she’s now on the ‘gram!) which already has an impressive 44k followers. Though I’m sure someone else did that particular post because I’ve been on Instagram for much longer than Ms. Barbra and my #hashtag skills are NOT that fierce.

Fans can pre-order “Partners”now.  All those who pre-order the album will receive a new downloadable song “New York State Of Mind,” with Billy Joel.  The Lionel Richie duet of the classic “The Way We Were” will be also be made available to pre-ordering fans on August 26. The third Instant Grat track, the Michael Buble duet “It Had To Be You,” – will be downloadable via pre-order on September 2.
The other artists that Streisand teams with on this album are Andrea Bocelli, Jason Gould, Josh Groban, John Legend, John Mayer, Blake Shelton, Stevie Wonder and last but not least, Kenneth ‘Babyface’ Edmonds who also serves as producer along with Walter Afanasieff.
Which tracks are you interested in hearing? I’m most curious about “The Way We Were” with Lionel Richie.
I wonder if a concert will follow the release. If so, you guys better start saving your pennies right now because not only is Streisand the best-selling female recording artist in history, she’s got the chops to back it up live.
