Matcha tea is very popular among tea drinkers. It’s flavorful, healthy and in addition to a regular cup of tea there are so many things you can make with it like smoothies, cakes and even ice cream.
People are used to green matcha so, I was very curious when Red Leaf Tea sent me their White Matcha Tea to try out.

What is Matcha?
Matcha is a fine ground powdered tea that is made in Japan. It is generally made from green tea leaves.
What is White Tea?
White tea is made from tea leaves that are picked just before the buds are fully open. There’s a fuzz that is formed on the bud  that  turns white in color when the leaf is dried. White tea has been popular in Asia, specifically China for thousands of years and has recently made its way across the world and here to the US.

Red Leaf Tea Company wants to bring the benefits of white tea and the process of matcha together for tea lovers to enjoy with their new product White Matcha but, how does it taste?
I really like the taste. They have a recipe on their site for Cold Matcha Latte. The recipe is for green tea but, I substituted their white tea and it was delicious.
I also, tried it as a traditional tea and it was just as good.
In conclusion….
Would I spend my own money to buy this product?
I would have to say, yes. Like I said, I enjoyed the taste and I’m looking forward to incorporating the white matcha into other recipes.
Whether you’re a tea lover looking for something different or a novice tea drinking looking to explore matcha , you should give the White Matcha Tea a try. And don’t forget to come back and let me know what you think
