Children’s clothes and toys are two of my favorite things to shop for during the holiday season.
It’s so easy to get lost in a maze of toys and playing with each one to decide the perfect gift.
I imagine what I would want to play with and see under the tree as a kid.
The first toy a child sees should be amazing and colorful and magical.
With children’s clothes, I’m a huge fan of sweaters with animals on them and cardigans especially for holiday pictures and family portraits.
I decided to do a little bit of e-window shopping to pick some children’s clothes and toys for our holiday gift guide.

I picked out a couple of items that were complimentary to our gift guide and let me tell you it was not an easy choice.
All of the independent designers do such a great job whether it’s the clothes or the toys that you really can’t go wrong with either my choices or your own.
I love traditional toys. They always turn out to be a child’s favorite out of all the gifts they receive.
I would get all three. I can imagine a child’s eyes lighting up when they see these under the tree or open up their gift to find these colorful pull toys. They are made of wood, finished with non-toxic child friendly paints.
This falls in line with my love of cardigan sweaters for babies and children. It looks so comfortable. The cream color can be paired with anything and it will look amazing in those holiday family portraits. They also have it in grey. The sweater is hand knitted and made from wool and mohair yarns in France.
The minute I saw this coat I knew it had to be in my gift guide. Being from NYC I see a lot of children in your basic black or solid color winter coats.
I just imagined being a little girl again and having a choice in picking my own winter coat and this being one of the choices. If they sold an adult size of this coat I’d buy it.
So, this one is for the kid in me who always wanted a bright colorful and fun winter coat.
I mentioned early on that what inspired me to do a Holiday Gift Guide was the childhood memory of picking items from a catalog along with my sister so, I decided I had to pick something for the kid in her too.
My sister loves owls so, the minute I saw this sweater I thought of her and had to have it in my guide. I think the kid in her would look great in it and your child will too. It’s 100% cotton and made in Portugal.
